Working on inner-city development in Gouda
The site of the former Van Loon garage in Gouda's Ridder van Catsweg is the new location for three residential tower blocks containing a total of 196 apartments and a car park. Although construction is not set to start until the third quarter of 2021, EversPartners has already begun its work on behalf of contractor Vastbouw.
From A to Z
We are designing the structural engineering, based on tunnel construction systems using stabilising prefab walls. In consultation with Van Ommeren Architecten, we are modelling these designs in BIM and agreeing the drawings with the installation consultant. The parties involved have worked together before, ensuring collaboration is both enjoyable and effective.
In this project, EversPartners is not only delivering the final design, but also taking care of the structural detailing, including the arrangements for the environmental permit. Our involvement in several disciplines enables us to apply our knowledge of construction to this sizeable and impressive project in the early stages of design.
Community consultation
This project also involves regular consultation with the Municipality of Gouda.
Jitze Koops explains, 'The challenge in this involves ensuring that the various urban design frameworks and landscaping of public areas are incorporated as effectively as possible in the structural detailing. In this, we’re focusing a lot on striking the right balance between preserving existing green areas and the urgent need for extra housing in Gouda.'
