Five great new residential properties delivered in Amsterdam
In July 2019, AHAM Vastgoed started work on the renovation in Amsterdam of Jacob van Lennepstraat. Originally made up of four storeys and an attic floor, the building now boasts five spacious rental apartments. The homes were completed at the end of March 2020. Our project coordinator, Jeroen van Velzen, supervised the renovation on behalf of AHAM Vastgoed.
Renovation work
The renovation work on the apartments involved more than just minor interior and exterior refurbishment:
The four student flats that were on the attic floor have been transformed into a luxury penthouse apartment.
The apartments on the ground, first, second and third floors have been given balconies.
All of the window frames in the building have been replaced.

Challenges
This project was marked by two challenges:
Working at a city centre site: Where possible, we used a truck to deliver materials to the front of the building and hoisted heavier items—such as the balcony—over the building using a large crane.
EP’s added value
Jeroen has the appropriate knowledge and forms a bridge with the EP offices, where expertise is available in architectural design and construction. This ensured we could resolve any challenges at the right time.
“In this project, it really helped having the office's support behind me, in case I had questions.”
