The municipality of Haarlemmermeer and the district council of Amsterdam decided that the Den Burgh farm in Hoofddorp should be restored to its former glory with a catering destination and licence.
Fundation restoration
We have worked out the engineering of the foundation repair of the existing part as well as the development of the drawings for the new part.
Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence line of Amsterdam)
The farm dates from 1859 and is a so-called 'long' farm. Because this type of farm is now scarce, Den Burgh has been granted the status of 'municipal monument'. The farm is located next to the Geniedijk and is therefore part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. That is why Den Burgh is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
On the website of Stadsherstel Amsterdam, you can find much more information about how a ruin was turned into a prime location.
