Shipping hall Tata Steel

For more than four years, Tata Steel worked on a new shipping hall, which was designed to improve the company's logistics capacity as much as possible. EversPartners has been involved in the design and realisation of the project for all this time. The 200-metre shipping hall has been in use since February 2019. This is an extension of the existing production hall and is used for the storage of steel coils, pending their dispatch. A train and trucks, which are loaded by fully automated cranes, ride into the building to collect the sample for transport to the customer.

Architectural and construction drawings 

Our extensive experience with the complex regulations and specifications of Tata Steel allowed us to think along in the many versions that preceded the most economical location and building. We provided input for all architectural engineering and construction drawings and provided all documents for the application for the environmental permit.

Foundation and concrete construction

We also took care of the specifications, calculations and drawings for the foundation and the concrete construction. During the execution phase, we supported and advised the Tata Steel project office with the construction management and supervision. All in all, a huge project, where the biggest challenge was the construction of the crane track. In order to be able to use the maximum crane capacity in the hall, it was necessary to take a 'bite' out of the building. It was not possible to redirect all existing pipelines. With this change, we ensured that Tata Steel's day-to-day operations were not adversely affected.
